Several events and fundraisers are held during the year that help preserve the museum, meet our obligations, and develop more programs and opportunities for our visitors. Check back here for more details as the event dates approach. Please join us for these celebrations!
This annual fundraiser, held in February, helps with general operating expenses and site improvements. The meal includes spaghetti, garlic toast, salad, dessert and beverages.
$10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Free for ages 4 and under.

This is held at the Advent Christian Church, one of the properties owned by the museum. The church is located at the gate of the Burr Oak Cemetery. It was built in 1877 when the Ingalls family lived in Burr Oak.

Held on the 4th weekend in June
The celebration begins Friday night with a 5K run. Saturday’s activities include pioneer crafts, demonstrations and children’s games; skillet toss; checkers tournament; grand parade; pie auction; entertainment; raffle; greased pig contest; and the naming of Little Miss Laura and Young Almanzo. Sunday’s activities include an ecumenical worship service, featuring musical selections from Laura’s childhood and a potluck meal.

Annual Fund donations are used for building improvements, matching funds for grants, and educational programming. Everyone is invited to the brunch, which is free, but reservations are required by calling the museum at 563-735-5916.
